DAYS 1 & 2

July 14 & 15, 2022

Heading off to Copenhagen for the start of a two-week adventure that should take us to Amsterdam, Hamburg, Paris and London.

Flight1 : Nassau – Atlanta was a breeze

Flight 2: Atlanta – Amsterdam was a 7 hour flight starting at 8:30pm which took us through the night into Amsterdam arriving at 3am our time but ended up as 10am Amsterdam time. We were fed around 9:30 pm with a meal of turkey, mashed potato, carrots, string beans and couscous. As far as airline food goes it was good. And a cookie – the best part. I watched The Fugitive and Clue while everyone else tried to sleep. Once I dozed off around 1am, they were comign around again to serve ‘breakfast’ – dry english muffin with cheese and egg – which was saved for ‘later’.

Flight 3: Amsterdam – Copenhagen took us at gate B2 downstairs which ended up changing to B31 back upstairs at the last minute. Left at 2:40pm and arrived around 4pm

The airport in Copenhagen was flooded with luggage all over the place. Thankfully, everyone’s luggage came and we headed out to meet Michal – our tour guide who is originally from Poland and speaks 5 languages (English, Polish, Spanish, French and Russian)

As we got on the bus after helping to place 50-60 pieces of luggage in the luggage compartment, we realized we were on the WRONG BUS! Coincidentally, the two bus drivers had the same name!

So we had to take the luggaGe back off and move to the bus behind us – all part of the adventure!

After a brief drive to the hotel and listening to Michal explain what is going to be happening during the week, we checked in – Hotel Richmond.

Everyone was given their room keys and headed up to drop off their stuff so we could head to dinner at a local restaurant for a BUFFET – nothing more Bahamians love.

It was filled with vegetables, and food we were use to – sweet potato fries, chicken nuggets, salad as well as some local favorites – kangaroo and duck!

After a long day, we headed back to the hotel where those who wanted to, joined Michal on a walking tour of the area where we got to see some shops, and places of interest while we are here.
