DAY 16

July 29, 2022 (Finally Home)

No one could see how big the smiles were on all of our faces when we finally landed in Nassau. Having a 2-week European Vacation was fantastic. But all good things must come to and end and there is NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

As we deplaned and went through immigration, the familiar sights and smells were comforting. However, I had a moment of panic when I approached the immigration officer and reached in my bag only to discover my passport was missing.

I tried to remain calm, looked again, pulled everything out of the place where it should have been – nothing. Checked my pockets – nothing. Looked in another compartment of my backpack – zero.

By this point, I needed anxiety meds and a quick phone call for the ambulance to be on stand-by as I was about to freak out. Don’t tell me I went all this way from Nassau to Atlanta to Amsterdam to Copenhagen, Hamburgs, Bremen, Brussels, Amsterdam again, Paris, London, New York WITH my passport, only NOW to not know where it is.

After counting to three, I looked in a little brown bag that I got in the airport in New York where I bought some water, chex mix and a souvenir.

There it was….ok cancel the ambulance, but keep the anxiety meds just in case…

I had placed it in the bag when I got on the plane in New York becuase my hands were full to place it back in my backpack.  Perhaps I need some Ginko Biloba.

Anyways – I was home!

The luggage came shortly and everyone gathered their belongings and headed out to meet their families.

It was one for the books – can’t wait for 2024….how about you?

Do you want to be a part of the European Adventure – it is open to anyone who has an open mind, and a sense of adventure. You can start to begin saving in September 2022 with as little as $250 per month.
